What to Wear: Holiday Party

Photobucket Originally, I planned this post (on my trusty editorial calendar, of course) to be something like a lookbook, showing you guys a total of four or five different outfit ideas for holiday parties, dinners, etc. But then, I thought: a picture-heavy post is great, but what about all the juicy details - the real value?

And, so, instead of one huge compilation of repetitive images, I'm giving you guys a full week of Holiday-inspired looks, complete with ornaments, fake flowers, and tons of cheesy holiday cheer! Stay tuned through the rest of the week for pairings you can wear to your office holiday party, Christmas dinner with the family, or a more casual outing with friends. Photobucket   Photobucket   Photobucket   Photobucket With a bold, deep red lip and eye-catching jewelry piece, you'll be sure to make a statement. Since I didn't have a necklace with the jewel tones I thought the outfit called for, I got a little creative and took a vintage brooch (from my mom's collection), pinned it onto a vintage necklace (also my mom's) - et voilá! Photobucket Photobucket  I like to describe my style as classic with a whimsical twist, always with an element of surprise. For this outfit, that "pop" was these shoes - unexpected, but still tying in the colors while adding some texture. Photobucket Photobucket And, the flowers? Well, they're optional - though, there's nothing like decorating your place with some poinsettias to get into the holiday spirit!
